TALLAHASSEE – Capital Health Plan, the nation’s top-ranked Medicare plan by “NCQA’s Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010-2011-Medicare” has provided peace of mind to thousands of members in the capital region since 1982. Today, the health provider has announced it will expand coverage in 2011 to residents of Calhoun and Liberty Counties.

Medicare beneficiaries will be eligible to enroll in a Capital Health Plan Medicare Advantage plan if they live within the expanded service area. The extended plan coverage begins Jan. 1, 2011.
Capital Health Plan’s Medicare plan is ranked number one in the nation according to “NCQA’s Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010-2011 – Medicare” published by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Capital Health Plan also received five out of five stars for health plan quality from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. CHP is the only Medicare Advantage plan in the nation to receive this rating in both 2010 and 2011.
Members of employer group plans will be eligible for Capital Health Plan if they live or work in Calhoun, Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, or Wakulla counties effective January 1, 2011. Capital Health Plan’s commercial plan is ranked 4th in the nation according to “NCQA’s Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010-2011 – Private” published by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
