February 29, 2012 – Once again, the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) awarded Capital Health Plan its highest accreditation status of Excellent for service and clinical quality. Capital Health Plan was awarded the Excellent status for both its Commercial HMO and Medicare HMO plans. This means that Capital Health Plan met or exceeded NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement. CHP has held the Excellent accreditation status for 11 years.
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) recognized Capital Health Plan as the top ranked plan among commercial HMOs. The rankings, published in “NCQA’s Private Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2011-2012,” also list Capital Health Plan as the number three plan overall among commercial HMO, HMO/POS, and PPO plans.
TALLAHASSEE – Capital Health Plan, the nation’s top-ranked Medicare plan by “NCQA’s Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010-2011-Medicare” has provided peace of mind to thousands of members in the capital region since 1982. Today, the health provider has announced it will expand coverage in 2011 to residents of Calhoun and Liberty Counties.

Today is National Smokeout Day, a day designed to get people to put out their cigarettes for good.
Capital Health Plan (CHP) today announced its members have exceeded smoking reduction goals set by the Healthy People 2010. Healthy People 2010 is a national set of health objectives to be achieved through the first decade of the new century. Currently only 10 percent of CHP members report that they smoke, surpassing the 12 percent goal set by Healthy People 2010. This is great news for the Big Bend area because not smoking is cited as one of the most significant things people can do to improve their health.
Capital Health Plan (CHP) has once again received national recognition. CHP today announced it was rated as the top-ranked commercial and Medicare health plan in Florida. In the rankings published in the 2008 U.S.News & World Report and the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) issue of “America’s Best Health Plans ” CHP was one of the top 25 commercial plans in the nation with a rank of 23 and one of the top 10 Medicare plans in the nation with a rank of 7.
