Choose to Move

Here's a nice paradox: A mental move may be the best way to get more exercise. Change your mind; change your body. Instead of always thinking of Exercise with a capital E-a scheduled session of working out, biking, walking, or whatever-seize chances to move more whenever you can. It's an attitude/action adjustment. Besides gardening (see the cover article and page 2), you'll find many ways to help get the 30-90 minutes of cumulative daily exercise that many experts now recommend. Walk the dog. Walk the mall. Wash the car. Take the stairs. Hide the remote. Do crunches during commercials. Park farther away. Take the kids to the park. Visit a museum. Go dancing. Move!
