In the month of valentines, all love messages aren't romantic. "I invite you to look into CHP's Medicare Advantage Plus plan--more benefits and smooth operation." Now that's a loving message to give a senior you care about. Already, CHP members enrolled in Advantage Plus are spreading the good word, particularly welcome when news media blazon the mishaps of the new Medicare prescription drug coverage.
As of January 3, 2006, after the new drug coverage went into effect, CHP Medicare Advantage Plus members successfully filled over 30,000 prescriptions at participating pharmacies. That is why we call the program "Medicare Made Easy.
Who Is Eligible for Advantage Plus?
The program is offered exclusively for people living in the Florida counties of Leon, Wakulla, Gadsden, and Jefferson who currently have Medicare Part A and Part B.
What Are the Benefits?
First, Advantage Plus members receive all original Medicare benefits, as well as the new Part D drug benefit. The CHP Plus is added coverage, including:
- routine check-ups and preventive care not covered by Medicare
- $15 copay per primary care visit
- in-patient hospital coverage, $250-$750 per admission
- emergency care anywhere in the world
- routine eye and hearing exams
- health education programs
- eyeglasses*
- fitness center membership*

What About Prescriptions?
For filling your prescriptions, CHP Advantage lets you choose among 54 retail pharmacies in our four-county service area. You'll find a list of the pharmacies, as well as complete drug-coverage information, on our web site at www.capitalhealth.com/medicare. In addition, Advantage Plus members can access their prescription benefits at Walgreens pharmacies nationwide.
All of these pluses--extra benefits, preventive care, convenience, and peace of mind from your local health plan of nearly 25 years--add up to extremely good news for CHP's Medicare members. We want to help you stay healthy.
