Capital Health Plan is proud to be major sponsor and continuing supporter of the Silver Stars program, recognizing active seniors in our community who continue to Live Well, contribute to the community and achieve accomplishments since reaching age 60. The Tallahassee Senior Center, which spearheads the event, invites the community to nominate Silver Stars for their involvement, inspiration and active living. The 2010 celebration culminates in a festive awards dinner at the FSU University Center on April 14th.
"CHP is proud to support the Tallahassee Senior Center’s efforts to highlight extraordinary seniors in our community," said Dr. Nancy Van Vessem, Chief Medical Officer. "Silver Star honorees exemplify CHP’s mission to ‘live well,’ by leading healthy, productive lives, while giving back to others."
Past honorees include athletes, executive directors, community advocates, caregivers, volunteers, and entrepreneurs. The common thread is exemplary service to others and our community. Last year’s Silver Stars included Mildred Allen, Eleanore Campbell, Nancy Graham, John Haughabrook, Barbara Judd, Fairy Powell, Bob Schmidt and James Walker.
