Question: Where can I get my flu shot this year?
Answer: Capital Health Plan announces multiple options for obtaining your flu vaccine for the 2011-2012 flu season:
1. The flu vaccine is a covered benefit through your primary care physician’s office. Please call your PCP to verify if an appointment is needed. There is $0 copay for flu vaccines.
2. Capital Health Plan members may obtain flu vaccines from the local health departments listed below. Please contact them for scheduling.
- Leon County Health Department (850-606-8000)
- Wakulla County Health Department (850-926-0400)
- Liberty County Health Department (850-643-2292)
- Calhoun County Health Department (850-674-5645)
3. Commercial and Medicare members may get their flu shot at 28,000 retail pharmacies nationwide between the dates of 9/1/2011 through 3/12/2011. All major pharmacies are participating in the program this year:

- Target
- Eastwood
- Winn-Dixie
- FAMU Health Dept (W. Orange Avenue)
- K-Mart
- Massey
- CVS
- If your pharmacy is not listed, verify they are participating in this program.
- Verify that your pharmacy is able to vaccinate children age 18 and under.
- Work with your pharmacy for appointment processes.
- You must present your Capital Health Plan ID card.
- This benefit is limited to Influenza vaccine only.
- The 2011-2012 standard seasonal vaccine will include the vaccination against H1N1. Only one shot will be needed again this year.
- Members will have $0 copay for flu vaccines.
