Run For Wakulla Springs

Capital Health Plan sponsored the fifth annual 5K Run benefiting the Friends of Wakulla Springs on May 15, 2010. This year’s race drew almost 400 registered participants. Capital Health Plan greeted finished runners with the CHP fruit stand. 

Silver Stars Awards Gala

Capital Health Plan was a sponsor of the Silver Stars Awards for the sixth year. The event recognized noteworthy seniors in our community. 

March of Dimes 2011

CHP was a large participant in this year's March of Dimes walk Capital Health Plan marketing staff supported the March of Dimes with our fruit stand. The event was held at TCC, a new location due to the construction for Cascades Park. There were 94 CHP employee participants, the highest participation ever for this event!

Springtime 10K

As the presenting sponsor for the Springtime 10K, 5K and 1 Mile, Capital Health Plan was present at the finish of the race with our sales table and fruit stand. There were over 2,000 participants for this year’s events held on April 2, 2010.

Stomping Out Type 2 Diabetes

The CHP Health Promotions department represented Capital Health Plan at the first annual Stomping Out Type 2 Diabetes to benefit Leon County Schools.

Capital City Senior Games

CHP was a major sponsor of the second annual Capital City Senior Games February 10-14, 2010. The event was run by the Tallahassee Senior Center and the Parks & Recreation Department. The weekend featured senior athletes participating in various competitions throughout the city.

Jingle Bell Run

Capital Health Plan was the sponsor for the Jingle Bell run at the 24th annual Winter Festival in downtown Tallahassee. The race included about 3,000 runners with over 10,000 attendees to the parade and festivities. CHP staff manned the fruit stand offering a healthy alternative for festival go-ers.

Turkey Trot

To encourage active living throughout the holiday season, Capital Health plan sponsored Thanksgiving Day's Turkey Trot. Capital Health Plan staff were present at the event to greet runners with the CHP fruit stand. Over 4300 runners participated in the day's races.

Light the Night Leukemia and Lymphoma Walk

Capital Health Plan participated in the Light the Night Walk for the first time in 2010. As a sponsor of the event, CHP had a walking team of 57 members.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

To support the American Cancer Society, Capital Health Plan was a sponsor for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. CHP was present at the walk with our fruit stand booth, distributing healthy snacks for the over 2,200 participants. The Capital Health Plan walking team had 152 members.
